UGA School of Law to host
Legal Ethics & Professionalism Symposium

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia School of Law is hosting the 10th Annual Legal Ethics & Professionalism Symposium, titled “Drawing the Ethical Line: Controversial Cases, Zealous Advocacy, and the Public Good.” This day-long event will take place on Friday, Oct. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Classroom A of Hirsch Hall on UGA’s North Campus.

The symposium will examine the difficult ethical issues encountered by attorneys in defending and prosecuting controversial or high-profile cases. In addition to addresses by former U.S. Attorney General W. Ramsey Clark and former U. S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico David C. Iglesias, there will be three panel discussions featuring an array of notable practitioners and academics.

“This event will explore some of the thorniest and most troubling ethical issues that members of the legal profession can face. It should be of interest to attorneys, judges, law students and anyone who is curious about why some lawyers do what they do,” symposium organizer and School of Law Professor Lonnie T. Brown Jr. said.
